81% of People Meet Their Partner Through Friends or Friends of Friends

Results of the 2004 mates4dates ( http://www.mates4dates.co.uk/ ) relationship survey for the UK reveals that whilst we have a frenzy of dating activity including billboard dating and speed dating, the best way to meet the perfect partner for you remains the trusted network of friends.mates4dates have conducted this survey into the dating preferences of 17,000 users on the mates4dates website, which showed that of those people in relationships, 81% of people met their partner through friends or friends of friends.It also showed that 73% would advise their friends to meet a date through friends rather than try many of the latest dating techniques.Caspar Craven, CEO of mates4dates says "The evidence shows that people would rather date a friend of a friend based on a personal recommendation – the key is in extending your personal network so that you can meet as many people as possible through your personal network"This might be through a dating site such as mates4dates or a social networking website such as linkyourfriends (http://www.linkyourfriends.co.uk/) or Friendster (http://www.friendster.com).The rules of dating with all the new developments do not seem to have changed all that much - the best solution seems to be combining traditional methods of dating with the latest techniques out there - ie go dating with groups of friends online.
